Creation of the First Jiu-Jitsu Card Game

With over 20 years dedicated to the “gentle art,” Marcelo Nonaca has earned the rank of 3rd-degree black belt—a testament to his technical mastery, deep understanding, and unwavering passion for Jiu-Jitsu.

From his early days on the tatami, Marcelo’s enthusiasm for Jiu-Jitsu has never wavered. As a father of three, he has passed down this discipline to his children, making it an integral part of their growth and identity. This very philosophy led to the creation of BattleJitsu—a fun and engaging training aid designed to bring the spirit of Jiu-Jitsu beyond the mats, allowing enthusiasts to enjoy and refine their skills anywhere at any skill set.

To Marcelo, Jiu-Jitsu is more than a sport—it’s a way of life. It instills values like humility, patience, respect, and perseverance, shaping character both on and off the mats. His journey has been about more than just technique; it’s about fostering a mindset that empowers individuals to face challenges head-on, both in training and in life.

BattleJitsu embodies this belief, making Jiu-Jitsu accessible, enjoyable, and ever-present for those who live by its principles.

It is that unwavering passion for BJJ that led him to a new challenge: the creation of the first-ever Jiu-Jitsu card game, "Battle Jitsu."

With this innovative project, Marcelo seeks to bring the principles and excitement of Jiu-Jitsu beyond the tatami, allowing the strategies and techniques of this martial art to be explored and enjoyed in an entirely new format.

The game not only represents his love for the sport but also his desire to share the values and philosophy of Jiu-Jitsu with a broader audience.
